Emir of Sumgayit jamaat taken captive in Syria - <span style="color: red;">EXCLUSIVE

Baku. Hafiz Hajiyev – APA. An Azerbaijani fighter has been taken captive in Syria.

APA reports that he is emir of Sumgayit jamaat, Agil Hajiyev aka “Talish Agil” fighting under Jund al-Sham armed group.

He was captured by the members of Al-Nusra Front and sentenced to execution under Sharia Law. He will be reportedly executed in the coming days.

Sumgayit law enforcement bodies told APA that Agil taghi Hajiyev was born in Boladi village of Lankaran region. Hajiyev married a woman who was a member of Khawarij sect and went to Syria a few years ago.

According to the law enforcement bodies, they have information that Hajiyev is in Syria, but they have no information about his being taken captive.

Emir of Kharijites in Sumgayit Elchin Akberov was arrested as a result of special operation held by the Interior ministry in December, 2013. Akberov was arrested over the skirmish the occurred between Khawarij and Salafi sects in Sumgayit on December 11. As a result, city residents Anar Rahimov and Elmar Mammadli were stabbed. Residents of Teze Jorat settlements Elshan Musayev and Elnur Nazaraliyev received shrapnel wounds.

As a result of the investigation and search operations carried out by the employees of Police Office and Prosecutor’s Office, more than 20 suspected persons were arrested.

110 g hashish, 5 kg substance like mercury, 44 banned religious books, 30 CDs, one “F-1” hand-grenade, 1 grenade lighter and 123 bullets were seized from the houses of these persons.
