Baku – APA. “Dear compatriots, our homeland is face-to-face with a mortal danger. Ukraine is on the verge of losing its independence and sovereignty due to foreign aggression. It is no more interference in the internal affairs of Ukraine, but an attempt of invading our country. Well-trained Russian subversive groups are acting in the east of Ukraine, not the Ukrainian separatists. Let's call a spade a spade: war has actually been declared against Ukraine,” said leader of Ukraine's Batkivshchyna Party Yulia Tymoshenko, addressing the people, APA reports quoting Censor.net.
Tymoshenko noted that she was sure of peaceful resolution of the crisis until the last moment, but this chance is lost: “We should stop them, otherwise they won’t stop. Today is probably the worst day of Ukraine's 23 years of independence. Now it's time to make a decision. It is in vain to call the aggressor for truce. Thus, as the leader of one of Ukraine's major political parties, I support holding counterterrorism operation in the participation of the Ukrainian Armed Forces. It is time to declare the organization of national resistance to Russian aggressors through possible means, including mobilization. We have to prove to the world that we can defend ourselves. Then the world will also help us. I call on the leaders of Western states to impose the third phase of sanctions against Russia. I also ask the world leaders to provide military aid to the people of Ukraine, fighting for their freedom,” she said.
