Winner of competition launched for opening new TV channel in Azerbaijan named

NTRC told APA that the documents submitted by “Brand in Baku” LLC, “Fatiyev Company” LLC and “Region TV” LLC for the competition launched by the National Television and Radio Council (NTRC) from January 22 to February 22, 2014 with the view of opening a new national TV channel (the 37th TV channel in Baku and Absheron peninsula, including the 11th sector) were considered and results of the competition were discussed at the meeting.

Basing on the law “On television and radio broadcasting”, paragraphs #8.6 and 9.6 of the Regulation on National Television and Radio Council, decree “On improvement of rules for issuance of special permit (license) for certain types of activities”, the NTRC declared “Region TV” LLC the winner of competition launched by the National Television and Radio Council (NTRC) from January 22 to February 22, 2014 with the view of opening a new national TV channel (the 37th TV channel in Baku and Absheron peninsula, including the 11th sector) for its more superior creative capabilities, more appropriate technical- material base and professional personnel and issued 6-year special permit (license) for its activity.
