APA reports quoting the ministry’s website that explosion happened at the non-residential premises in T. Shikhaliyev street, 8, Narimanov district, Baku at 04:00 on March 3, 2014. The non-residential premises with the items were damaged in the blast and fire.
The members of the investigation group of Operation-Investigation Department inspected the site with the participation of the experts of Justice Ministry’s Judicial Examination Center, photos were taken, the site was filmed, scheme of the site drawn, documents were taken.
Initial investigation has found out that the total area of the non-residential premises located in the basement of the building is 177.3 sq m.
The inspection has found out that the rented premises were damaged by the blast and fire, the separation walls collapsed. 2 propane gas cylinders were found during the inspection, one was completely destroyed, the other was damaged. A tabletop gas stove, rubber gas pipe tied to it, additional part of the rubber gas pipe were found left to the door, a part of the gas cylinder in the middle of the room, bottom of the gas cylinder and metal grill for the gas stove, various kinds of electric cables, T-joint and electric lock at the wall opposite the door.
Basing on the signs how the separation walls collapsed, it was found out that the source zone of the explosion (fire) was inside the room. The gas cylinders and gas equipment with rubber pipe tied to it, which were found in the room, show that the gas equipments were not used properly.
Examinations are planned in connection with the explosion.
