Shamakhy Observatory: There is a direct correlation between the solar activity and quakes

Chief of the Sun and solar-terrestrial relationship Department of Shamakhi-based Tusi Astrophysical Observatory Namig Jalilov told APA that the developed countries are spending too much money to predict a quake, but no country has achieved it yet. According to him, a statistic correlation is observed between solar activity and predictions: “But no one knows the form and physics of this correlation. The solar activity is maximum, the number of quakes on the Earth has increased. The Sun has an indirect, though not direct impact on the Earth. Solar activity jolts magnetic field, influences the dynamics of the processes ongoing inside the Earth, the energy increases and causes shocks.”

As regards the influence of the moon on the processes on the Earth, Jalilov said its impact causes by ebb and flow. He said dependence between ebb and flow and quakes are being studied.

“The impact of the Moon is not ruled out. Ebb and flow can directly impact the processes in the core of the Earth. This can result in the accumulation of energy and later in the quake,” he said.
