APA reports quoting Ukrainskaya Pravda that leader of Svoboda (Freedom) party Oleg Tyagnibok said they had not been invited to the roundtable: “Nobody informed us about it. No one called or sent a message.”

Tyagnibok said permission is needed in order to negotiate with the authorities: “We have to get approval of the people.”

Batkivshchina party leader Alexander Turchinov stated that to start the talks, the authorities should fulfill two requirements of the opposition and release the detained activists. MP from the same party Nikolay Tomenko noted that the opposition can directly hold talks only with the president Viktor Yanukovic with the participation of international mediators.

On December 9, Yanukovich supported Kravchuk’s roundtable idea, but did not join the roundtable today and held meeting with ex-presidents L. Kravchuk, L. Kuchma ad V. Yushchenko.
