Caucasian Muslims Board issues fatwa on Month of Muharram

Baku. Mubariz Aslanov – APA. The Caucasian Muslims Board has held a meeting on the occasion of the Month of Muharram, APA reports.

The event was attended by chairman of Caucasian Muslim Board (CMB) Sheikh-ul-Islam Haji Allahshukur Pashazadeh and believers of various regions.

The Cadi Council of the Caucasian Muslims Board has issued a fatwa on the occasion of the Month of Muharram.

The beginning of the new year– the first of the Month of Muharram by Christian calendar falls on November 5, 2013 and Ashura on the 10th day of the Month of Muharram - on November 14, 2013.

It is said that the people should comply with public order during Ashura events in mosques, sanctuaries, as well as special places. Khutbahs must be read in the honor of the Karbala martyrs and the memory of martyrs died for country must be commemorated. The people should observe the discipline and order in holy places and avoid the actions not appreciated by Islam, actions like harming themselves with chains.

The fatwa says that organizing of Blood donation campaign on the initiative of the Caucasian Muslims Board during the day of mourning must be an example as flagellation.
