SOCAR and NATO discuss energy security problems

Baku. Ali Ahmadov – APA-Economics. President of SOCAR Rovnag Abdullayev met with the delegation led by NATO Assistant Secretary General for Emerging Security Challenges Ambassador Gabor Iklody, APA-Economics reports.

At the meeting, SOCAR President noted that at present time energy security was one of the global problems. He informed the guests about actual oil-gas projects realized by Azerbaijan within the new oil strategy.

Saying that Azerbaijan has become an example country for the region, Iklody appreciated development of mutual relations between NATO and Azerbaijan. He noted that diversification of gas resources was one of the important issues for the Northern Alliance countries.

‘Azerbaijan is an old land of oil and it made great contributions to the world oil industry. Selection of a route for transportation of Azeri natural gas to European countries has stepped the final stage. For this purpose’, said Abdullayev.

Thereupon, SOCAR President responded questions of the guests.
