Baku. Shahriyar Alizadeh – APA. The names and number of offices of foreign NGOs, which are operating in Azerbaijan and do not submit annual financial reports, have been revealed.
Ministry of Justice told APA that 71 offices of the foreign NGOs, operating in Azerbaijan didn’t submit annual financial reports.
Baku Offices of "Imam Khomeini Imdad Committee", UK humanitarian organization “Feed The Children”, UK humanitarian organization "Islamic help", the Jewish Agency for Israel (Sochnut), "The Norwegian Refugee Council," French humanitarian organization "Equilibre ", "The International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Society", Greek humanitarian organization “Doctors of the World” (Médecins du Monde-Greece), Russian "World Assembly of Muslim Youth", Saudi Arabian international Islamic organization "Nijat", "German Society for International Cooperation (GIZ) GmbH", “Internews Network”, an American NGO based in northern California, “Red Crescent Society” of Turkey and others are among the aforementioned NGOs.
Recently, Azerbaijan’s Finance Ministry has warned the NGOs and political parties.
‘The rules on the form, content and submission of the annual financial report by non-governmental organisations' was approved under the decision of the Azerbaijani Cabinet of Ministers dated December 25, 2009, and normative legal act was posted on website of the Finance Ministry.
According to the rule, annual financial reports of non-governmental organizations must be submitted to the Ministry after the end of the reporting period, no later than April 1 of the following year.
In case, the NGOs does not submit annual financial reports within the specified period, the Ministry of Finance warns those organizations in a written form and gives instructions to submit appropriate report within thirty (30) days.
Article 247-1 of the Code of Administrative Offences envisages administrative penalties for failure to present financial reports.
