Spokesman for the Foreign Ministry Elman Abdullayev said Czech Foreign Minister’s views on Khojaly genocide are surprising.

“It is surprising that Czech Foreign Minister has expressed a cold-blooded attitude to the ruthless killing of hundreds of Azerbaijanis by the Armenian servicemen represented in Armenia’s leadership. It turns out that speaking about it in a doubtful manner, Czech minister also has cold-blooded approach to Srebrenica, Khatyn and other crimes against humanity,” he said.

Commenting on the recognition of Khojaly genocide by the foreign affairs committee of Czech parliament, Karel Schwarzenberg said at the joint press conference with Armenian acting Foreign Minister Edward Nalbandian in Yerevan:

“The Czech Republic is against any form of violation of human rights, but such events happen during a war. However, this can not be compared to the tragedies of Armenians.”
