More than 2 meters of snow falls in Moscow  - <span style="color: red;">PHOTOSESSION

Moscow. Farid Akbarov – APA. The snow that has been falling since November last year has paralyzed life in Russia’s capital. APA’s Moscow correspondent reports that Deputy Mayor of Moscow Pyotr Biryukov said snow-cover height reached 2.16 m: “It the snowiest winter over last 100 years. It snowed 1.5 times more than normal.”

Severe frost is continuing in many cities of Russia. The temperature is reportedly -50 C in some regions.

Russia’s Ministry of Health reported that 216 people died of frostbite in winter. 3382 persons have been admitted to hospitals with the threat of frostbite.

The Ministry also reported that the flu virus spread in the country – mostly in Krasnodar, Dagestan and Volgograd. 1.2 million people have been infected with flu in Moscow. This is 13.9 times up compared to last year.
