He said that 44-year-old patient underwent operation at the Central Clinic Hospital: “There were serious problems in all the other organs of the bed patient, who used strong medicines. I.M., who had been suffering from dilated cardiomyopathy for years, was examined by experienced cardiologists, and recommendation was given to implant long-term artificial heart.”
Musayev said American-built artificial heart, called the HeartMate 2 was implanted in the patient. Long-term use of this device is intended. He said the patient's postoperative condition is normal. At present, the artificial heart device has a normal function, so as the patient's broken hemodynamic and functional parameters prior to surgery have been completely restored. The patient will be discharged in the near future.
