City Challenge’s media relations officer, René de Boer noted that the arrangements made by Azerbaijan are at the high level and people are interested in this show.

According to him, City Challenge director Hartmut Beyer’s visit to Azerbaijan early this year gave an impetus to holding the races in Baku: “He admired the beauty of Baku. Then, the negotiations were held and it was decided to hold the races in Baku. These races, which will be broadcasted in 120 countries and watched by 300 million people, are good advertisement of Azerbaijan for development of tourism and economy.”

City Challenge started in Baku on October 26. The training session was held yesterday. Qualifying and sprint races are being held today. The main race will be held on October 28.

City Challenge GT, include fascinating sports cars like Aston Martin Vantage GT3, Audi R8 LMS, BMW Z4 GT3, Ferrari 458 Italia GT3, Lamborghini Gallardo LP600+, McLaren MP4-12C GT3, Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG GT3, Porsche 911 GT3 R and various other brands and models.

2.1 km-racing stripe of City Challenge GT is around the Government House. Each team is represented by two drivers. All security measures are applied in accordance with the international standards.

During 3-day entertaining races, the participants will fight for classic F1 and Grand Prix awards.

Note that, lately, City Challenge GT was held in Bucharest and Budapest.
