Azerbaijan Writers’ Union issues statement on two young writers went missing in Iran

The union expressed its concern on lack of information about the fate of the two poets.

The report noted that one of the talented writers, who went missing in Iran three weeks ago, Farid Huseyn is a member of the Azerbaijan Writers’ Union, he was a holder of presidential scholarship and author of several original and translated books.

Shahriyar del Gerani is the activist of the literary environment. He gained significant successes in the competitions with his poems and stories.

“Azerbaijan Writers’ Union noted the importance of clearness of the fate of Farid Huseyn and Shahriyar del Gerani as soon as possible and wishes to take effective steps for the sake of releasing of the two young writers and protection of humanist principles and high human values”, the Union’s statement reads.
