Azerbaijani Minister of Youth and Sports to attend Council of Europe Conference of Ministers responsible for Sport

Baku â€“ APA. Belgrade will host the 12th Council of Europe Conference of Ministers responsible for Sport on March. Minister of Youth and Sports Azad Rahimov will represent Azerbaijan at the conference, spokeswoman for the ministry Samaya Mammadova told APA.

In the first part, the ministers will discuss the promotion of integrity in sport to combat match-fixing, and in particular the pros and cons of negotiating an international convention compared to continuing with co-operation based on existing conventions, complemented by decisions and non-binding legal instruments.

The second part will deal with political issues of pan-European co-operation and strengthening the monitoring capacities of the Convention on Spectator Violence.

The guests will also be invited to the presentation of pan-European cooperation (cooperation with WADA, European Union, UEFA) in sports.

The previous conference of European ministers was held in Baku. According to procedure, Azad Rahimov is one of the co-chairs of the next conference.
