Baku hosts Think Tanks Forum of Islamic Countries - <font color=red>PHOTOSESSION</font>

The forum will take place on 2-3 March, 2012, APA reports.

Head of the Presidential Administration of Azerbaijan Ramiz Mehdiyev read the congratulatory letter of the President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev to the forum participants. Then in his speech, Ramiz Mehdiyev noted the necessity of confronting threats and challenges in the contemporary world. Mentioning the achievements of Azerbaijan in the years of independence, head of the Presidential Administration said our country is a part of the Islamic world and shares human values. He said Azerbaijan has become one of the world’s rapidly developing countries in recent years.
“Azerbaijan has risen to 34th place among 169 countries for human development index and been included in the list of most rapidly developing countries since 2005. Poverty was reduced for four times in Azerbaijan and the budget was increased. This year the country’s budget was USD 22 billion. Taken the impact of global crisis into consideration, this is an unusual case. Azerbaijan attaches great importance to the development of non-oil sector and innovation environment”.

Azerbaijani Foreign Minister Elmar Mammadyarov, TASAM Chairman Suleyman Sensoy, officials, heads of OIC countries’ think tanks, scientists, representatives of international organizations and diplomatic missions, local and foreign experts are attending the forum.
