AIBA says Olympic boxing fix claim against Azerbaijan groundless

The international governing body, AIBA, appointed a five-man committee to investigate the claims. The panel issued its findings on Monday, saying the accusations were completely without merit.
BBC Newsnight programme reported in September that $9m (£5.8m) had been paid by Azerbaijan in return for a guarantee of two boxing gold medals at the 2012 Olympics. The committee says a single private investor, Hamid Hamidov, made a purely commercial investment to support the creation of US boxing franchises.
The investigation committee concluded that the accusations against Azerbaijan were completely groundless and unsupported by any serious evidence.
