Eldar and Nigar gave us this joy. I have no strength to express my feelings and it is very difficult to find a word. We have reached a peak for which we were running and saw unbelievable”, said general director of Public TV and Radio Broadcasting Company Ismayil Omarov at the press conference dedicated to Azerbaijan’s victory in “Eurovision-2011” contest.

Omarov said that May 14 was written to the Azerbaijani history with golden letters: “everything’s basis depends on the choice. I congratulated the jury who made this choice. There were great hesitations during jury’s choice, but a very proper solution was made. It is an ideal choice. And now it is the world’s choice”.

General Director said that EBU presented to Azerbaijan the document ratifying the host of the contest in 2012. “Today they have called us. The discussions of the issues on place of contest will be held in EBU’s office in Geneva on June 20. I am sure that the most beautiful and most grandiose contest will be held in Azerbaijan”.

Winner of the “Eurovision-2011” contest Eldar Gasimov congratulated entire Turkic world on the occasion of victory: “This is not only our victory, but all of us. Thank you for your belief in us”.

Nigar Jamal expressed thanks to those who believed in and trusted them and congratulated Azerbaijani people on the victory: “I was holding Turkish flag in my hand. I took to the stage with Turkish flag because we were representing entire Turkic world. It means that we are really one nation, two states”.

Touching on Armenia’s participation in “Eurovision-2012” contest which will be held in Baku, Omarov underlined that he will not say anything about it: “As regards the participation of Armenian representative in this contest, I was informed that the Armenians were asked a question on it and they said that they would not participate in the contest. If they think so, I regret for it. “Eurovision” is a contest which calls the people to humanism. We don’t invite anybody separately. It is a very long process, there are very serious rules and we observe these rules”.
