APA’s special correspondent, who covered Eurovision 2011 in Düsseldorf, also returned together with them. AZAL State Company allocated a special plane for our winners.
The cake prepared by AZAL for the Eurovision 2011 winners was cut on board the plane. Eldar Gasimov told APA that he is happy to be home with such a victory.
“We are glad that we made Baku happy. We will do our best to continue our achievements,†he said.
Hundreds of people welcomed Eurovision winners at the airport. There was a traffic jam in front of the airport. People chanted “Azerbaijan!†and held flags of Azerbaijan and Turkey. Parliamentarians Jeyhun Osmanli and Fuad Muradov also welcomed our winners.
All the cars hoisted Azerbaijani flag, Running Scared was heard from the cars.
The fans presented flowers, gifts to our Eurovision representatives.
Azerbaijani delegation to Germany headed by Minister of Youth and Sport Azad Rahimov has also returned together with the winners.
