International tourism exhibition kicks off in Azerbaijan

Delivering keynote speech at the event Azerbaijani Minister of Culture and Tourism Abulfaz Garayev said that fulfillment of 6-year state program on development of tourism had already been started.

To him, last year, number of tourists visiting Azerbaijan were more than 1.5 mln, number of hotels functioning in the country hit 500: â€œPlaces has increased by 3 times to 35 000 within last 3 years. 6 new 5-star hotels will be opened early next year. I hope that tourism sphere will develop more and become inseparable part of our economyâ€.

ITE Group companyâ€™s executive director Edward Strun said that our purpose was to increase number of event participants: â€œThis year, number of participants increased more than 20%â€.

Note that, 230 companies of 24 countries representing 61 routes are attending the exhibitions to last until April 30. Within the framework of the exhibition several presentations will be held, seminars for specialists functioning in tourism sphere will be organized.
