President of Asian Development Bank to visit Azerbaijan

Baku. Nijat Mustafayev – APA-ECONOMICS. The 6th Ministerial Conference on the Central Asia Regional Economic Cooperation (CAREC) will be held in Baku on November 19-21.
The Asian Development Bank’s Office in Baku said about 140 representatives from Azerbaijan, China, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Mongolia, Tajikistan, Uzbekistan, Afghanistan and other countries are due to join the event.
Azerbaijan’s Minister of Economic Development Heydar Babayev is expected to represent Azerbaijan in the conference.
Along with the ministerial conference, a CAREC meeting will gather together 80 senior
Officials from the participating countries partner institutions on November 19.
ADB President Haruhiko Kuroda is due to visit Azerbaijan to attend the both events.
CAREC is an ADB-supported initiative to encourage economic cooperation in Central Asia. Initiated in 1997, the program to date has focused on regional initiatives in transport, trade facilitation, trade policy, and energy critical to improving the economic performance of the region and the livelihoods of all people—especially of the poor.
