Moscow-APA. “Russia has right to protect rights of Russians, as well as international community has right to protect Georgia’s sovereignty, security and territorial integrity”, French President Nicolas Sarkozy said at the meeting with Russian President Dmitry Medvedev.
Sarkozy noted that Russia should use its force for peace.
“I arrived in Moscow for this reason,” he said. French President Nicolas Sarkozy on Tuesday welcomed Russia’s announcement of a ceasefire in its conflict with Georgia and called for a timetable to return all sides to positions occupied before hostilities.
"I think what you have confirmed here is good news. A ceasefire now has to take shape", Sarkozy said, while beginning talks with Kremlin leader Dmitry Medvedev.
"We must draw up a rapid calendar so that each side can go back to the positions of before the crisis".
Medvedev noted that they are ready to discuss solution to the problem within implementation of two terms.
“First, all Georgian forces should be partially demilitarized and dislocated. Second, an agreement covering legal commitments should be signed not use force,” he said.
