Peter Semneby: European Commission will draw up a report on Eastern Partnership initiative

Baku. Tamara Grigoryeva - APA. “Mission of the European Parliament, representatives of the European Union, Council of Europe and OSCE will come to Azerbaijan to observe the presidential elections in October,” special representative of the European Union for the South Caucasus Peter Semneby, who is visiting Azerbaijan, said, APA reports.

Peter Semneby noted that according to the procedure, these organizations will work together and make statements. The special representative said the work on Eastern Partnership initiative will start in the first quarter of next year.
“Heads of EU member states offered European Commission to consider the issue thoroughly. This initiative is being discussed at present. It is discussed whether it will be the project within the framework of European Neighborhood Policy or a separate project,” he said.
Peter Semneby said European Commission will draw up a report and present the document to the Council of the European Union.
Peter Semneby has today delivered lecture in Azerbaijan’s Diplomatic Academy.
