39 years have passed since Heydar Aliyev came to power

Baku –APA. Today 39 years have passed since Heydar Aliyev was elected as the First Secretary of the Central Committee of Azerbaijan Communist Party.
While representing the supreme authority of the political power in the country, Heydar Aliyev, who took high posts in the security bodies for a long time and rose to the general’s rank, laid the foundation of large-scale building work in Azerbaijan. As a result of Heydar Aliyev’s activity, Azerbaijan fundamentally changed its industrial profile, upgraded the agriculture and new high schools, museums, theatres and libraries were opened in Baku, Sumgayit, Ganja and Nakhchivan and Jamshid Nakhchivanski Military school was opened in Baku. Azerbaijani industry experienced period of its renaissance under the Heydar Aliyev’s leadership. Azerbaijan took a leading position in former USSR for the production of oil machinery, home air conditioners, electric engineering, electro-thermal equipment, refrigerators, synthetic rubber, electrical cables, rolled pipes and others. Thousands of young peoples were sent to the best high schools of the country and then they became leading forces in the development of various fields in the country‘s life. Today mass cultural events dedicated to 39th anniversary of Heydar Aliyev’s coming to political power have been organized in Baku and various regions of Azerbaijan.
