Azerbaijan disallows load sent from Russia for Iran-based Bushehr nuclear power plant

Baku – APA. The equipment for Iran-based Bushehr nuclear power plant sent from Russia to Iran has been detained on Azerbaijan-Iran border.

APA reports quoting Interfax that Azerbaijani customs officers and frontier-guards detained the cars carrying the equipment in Astara border checkpoint. Azerbaijani frontier-guards said they had been ordered not to allow the load to Iran. Interfax reports that the load is not banned by the sanctions imposed by the UN against Iran, as these sanctions have not been imposed on Bushehr nuclear power plant.
It was unavailable to learn the stance of Azerbaijan’s related bodies.
