Azerbaijani President attends opening of bridge uniting Iran with Azerbaijan

Shahtakhti-Poldesht bridge uniting Iran with Azerbaijan was opened in Nakhchivan AR today, APA’s Nakhchivan bureau reports.
Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev and first vice-speaker of Iran Perviz Davudi also attended the opening ceremony.
Ilham Aliyev addressing the ceremony stressed that bridge was not only new trade way, but it will also serve to Azerbaijani and Iranian nations to become closer.
President stating that the relations between the two countries were in high level expressed his confidence that these relations will further develop.
First vice-speaker of Iran Perviz Davudi highly appreciating the opening of the bridge stated that it will play a great role in the development of economic-commercial relations between the two countries.
Following this, President got acquainted in the work of Iranian side passing the border through bridge.
Shahtakhti-Poldesht bridge on Araz River was constructed due to memorandum signed between the sides in 2003. /APA/
