Bern – APA. Former owner of Moscow’s Cherkizov market Telman Ismayilov’s sons – Alekper and Sarkhan – were questioned by police as witnesses of a road accident in Switzerland. The road accident was committed by the son of one of the Russian top officials. Ismayilovs told the investigation that they didn’t know Lamborghini driver, who caused the accident, but they stopped near them to help the injured people, APA reports quoting Russia’s Kommersant newspaper.
Police said four Russian citizens drove their cars Bugatti Veyron, Mercedes McLaren, Porsche Cayenne Turbo and Lamborghini Murcielago at high speed to overrun each other after the dinner at Hotel de la Reserve on November 20. Swiss police said Bugatti Veyron and Mercedes McLaren were driven by Ismayilovs. Except Lamborghini Murcielago all others were rent cars.
Lamborghini Murcielago’s driver stopped the car in red light and then while trying to overrun Volkswagen Golf driven by a German pensioner, the cars collided with each other. Both drivers were injured. Lamborghini’s 22-year old driver was released from hospital after the first medical aid, but the pensioner received serious injuries and stayed at the hospital.
Name of the man who caused the accident is not publicized. He is reportedly the son of a Russian top official and lives in Geneva canton of Switzerland. Ismayilovs were released after the testimony. Kommersant said they left the country and returned Istanbul where their father lives now.
