APA and Kazakhstan’s Nur Media Holding sign agreement on cooperation

Astana. Vugar Mustafayev – APA. Azerbaijan’s Azeri Press Agency (APA) and Kazakhstan’s Nur Media Holding reached an agreement on cooperation, According to APA, the signing ceremony took place in Astana at the invitation of Nur Media Holding.
APA Director General Vusala Mahirgizi and Nur Media Holding Director General Armanjan Baytasov signed the agreement. APA-ECONOMICS editor-in-chief Vugar Mustafayev and Nur Media Holding Deputy Director General Askar Umarov also participated at the ceremony.
The participants held a briefing after the signing ceremony.
Vusala Mahirgizi called it as an important event to sign an agreement with the leading media holding of one of the Turkic-speaking countries. She said it would be positive case if Nur Media Holding and APA created joint network to encourage other media organizations of the Turkic-speaking countries to sign agreements on cooperation.
Mahirgizi talked about the history of founding of APA. She said APA launched operation on November 16, 2004. The Agency employs 50 people and a great number of freelancers.
The daily capacity is 450 to 500 news articles. The APA is financed by subscription and ad fees.
The APA issues three newsletters every day in Azerbaijani, Russian, English and French besides online system. The newsletters cover political, economic, social, cultural and sport life of Azerbaijan, as well as breaking news in the region and the world.
Also, the Agency issues business-economic, photo, and analytical editions (twice a month) in all four languages every day. Pursuing unbiased, precise and independent information policy, the APA enjoys good cooperation with a great number of the leading media outlets from Turkey, Russia, Ukraine, Georgia, Central Asian and Baltic states, Moldova, some other European countries and the USA, and has concluded agreements on news exchange.
The APA’s subscribers and customers include embassies, consulates, international representatives, government agencies, ministries, financial institutions, representatives of international financial institutions in Azerbaijan as well as foreign companies, local and foreign business structures. Most non-governmental agencies, Azerbaijani diaspora organizations are also among the permanent subscribers. The Agency delivers newsletters by email or in printed way. Moreover, the APA’s has www.apa.az, economics (www.economics.az), sports (www.sport.apa.az), photo (www.photo.apa.az) and video (www.video.apa.az) websites in Azerbaijani, Russian and English.
The Azeri-Press Agency has offices in all regions of Azerbaijan plus bureaus in Turkey, Russia, Georgia, Central Asia, France and the USA.
The agency having about 150 employees has been officially registered in the Council of Europe, Department of State, Russian Foreign Ministry. APA is cooperating with Stratfor, Global Intelligence Company.
Vusala Mahirgizi gave information about Azerbaijani media, the present state of the country’s economy.
Baytasov spoke about the establishment of the holding, activity, present state of media in Kazakhstan.
It was noted that Nur media LLC was established on the initiative of Nur Otan People’s Democratic Party on November 24 last year. The holding includes 1 TV channel, 2 radio stations and 8 newspapers. The newspapers “Strana i mir”, “Dala men kala”, “Aykin”, “Liter”, “Turkistan”, “Nur Astana”, “Izvestia-Kazakhstan”, “Kazakhstan temirzholshisi” sell 440,000 copies. Moreover, the holding includes Astana TV channel, NS radio station and Delovaya volna radio. The priority of Nur media is to release unbiased information about political, economic and cultural life of the country, participate in the social projects.
