Kazakhstan offers to hold OSCE summit in Astana next year

Baku. Lachin Sultanova – APA. It is planned to hold the next summit of OSCE in Astana next year, Deputy Foreign Minister of Kazakhstan Konstantin Jiganov said, APA reports quoting Kazinform. Deputy Minister mentioned that the recent summit was held in Istanbul in 1999. According to the regulations, summit is to be held once in two or three years.
The initiative to hold the summit in Astana was supported by a number of OSCE members, including France, Italy, Spain, Turkey, Serbia, Estonia, Portugal.
“At the conference of the OSCE Ministerial Council in Athens in December we will raise the issue to hold the summit next year,” Konstantin Jiganov said.
