Hidayat Orujov ends his visit to Georgia

Tbilisi. Nizami Mammadzadeh – APA. Chairman of Azerbaijan State Committee on Work with Religious Structures Hidayat Orujov, who is visiting Georgia, met with vice-speaker of Georgian parliament Fridon Todua, Apa’s Georgia bureau reports. They discussed the problems of the Azerbaijanis living in Georgia, freedom of religion, restoration and construction of mosques, gaps concerning it in Georgian legislation.
Orujov told journalists that he met with patriarch Ilia II, representatives of Georgian state and government structures, mayor of Tbilisi Gigi Ugulava, governor of Kvemo-Kartli David Kirkitadze and heads of Marneuli and Mskheta, densely populated by Azerbaijanis and discussed important issues. He also took a stance on the construction of church in Baku.
“Georgian religious community should be registered for this. Only one Georgian community in Azerbaijan has been registered in Gakh region. If there is an initiative to establish such a religious organizations in Baku and appeal is made for the registration, we can consider the construction of church in Baku after registration,” he said.
Orujov said Georgian state and government structures had a constructive approach to the problems of the Azerbaijan.
“We had constructive and sincere talks. They had a constructive approach on the problems we discussed. We also exchanged views on their solution,” he said.
