OIC Standing Committee for Economic and Trade Cooperation begins meeting in Istanbul – PHOTO

Istanbul. Mayis Alizadeh – APA. The Organization of the Islamic Conference (OIC) Standing Committee for Economic and Trade Cooperation (COMCEC) began its 25th meeting in Lutfi Kirdar Palace in Istanbul, Turkey.
Representatives of 56 OIC member countries, as well as observer countries like Bosnia-Herzegovina, Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus, Central African Republic, Russia, Thailand and Macedonia, and international organizations are participating at the meeting. Three-day meeting will focus on the impact of world financial crisis, real estate fluctuations on OIC member countries, global energy market and other issues.
In his welcoming speech, the Turkish government minister for foreign trade Zafer Caglayan talked about the importance of multilateral cooperation between the regional countries in the period of global crisis.
The heads of states and governments of the member countries will meet on November 9 in Istanbul on the occasion of COMCEC’s 25th anniversary.
