President Ilham Aliyev receives Catholicos-Patriarch of All Georgia Ilia II

Baku – APA. Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev received the delegation headed by Catholicos-Patriarch of All Georgia Ilia II, the President’s press service told APA. The head of state expressed his satisfaction with the successful development of relations between Azerbaijan and Georgia in all directions. President Aliyev stressed the importance of the interreligious dialogue conducted in the region with the participation of reputable religious figures and added that it contributed to the mutual understanding and cooperation and maintenance of security in the region.
Underlining the significance of participation of Catholicos-Patriarch of All Georgia Ilia II in the “Interreligious dialogue: from mutual understanding to joint cooperation” international conferencein Baku, the head of state expressed his hope that the guest’s visit to Azerbaijan would be fruitful. Catholicos-Patriarch of All Georgia Ilia II welcomed the President of Azerbaijan on his behalf and on behalf of Georgian Orthodox Church and Georgian people and said: “I want to say once again that you are well known in Georgia and you are loved for the wise policy you carry on in such hard time”.
