Catholicos-Patriarch of All Georgia Ilia II arrives in Azerbaijan

Baku – APA. Catholicos-Patriarch of All Georgia Ilia II has arrived in Baku, APA reports. Chairman of the State Committee on Work with Religious Structures Hidayat Orujov, chairman of Caucasian Muslims Office sheikh-ul-islam Allahshukur Pashazadeh, Georgian ambassador to Azerbaijan Nikoloz Natbiladze and others welcomed Ilia II at Heydar Aliyev International Airport.

The aim of the visit is to attend the events on the 60th jubilee of Allahshukur Pashazadeh and 30th anniversary of his activity as sheikh-ul-islam.

Ilia II will also meet with Patriarch Kirill of Moscow and All Russia in Baku.
