Baku. Elnur Mammadli – APA. The Central Election Commission (CEC) held its regular meeting on Tuesday. It reviewed the issue of registration of the Musavat Party’s authorities for December 23 municipal elections, APA reports. CEC secretary Natig Mammadov said the party submitted more documents than required in the instructions of the election commissions. “The part said as if CEC representatives required additional documents. I investigated this issue and learned that no additional documents were required from them. They reported in the newspapers that we don’t want to register them. In contrary, we don’t create obstacle for anyone and try to support them”.
CEC deputy chairman Svetlana Gasimova said CEC should publish a statement in the newspapers which published the Musavat’s statements. “I know that Musavat representatives brought additional documents and asked the relevant election officials to receive them”.
Chief of the Musavat’s election department Gulaga Aslanli said CEC general office required those documents.
After the discussions, 28 authorities and one financial officer of the
Musavat Party was approved. CEC also approved the authorities of the Azerbaijan Liberal Democratic Party.
CEC changed composition of several election commissions as well.
