Baku. Elnur Mammadli – APA. Azerbaijan National Democratic Party was removed from the Union for Democracy, chairman of Freedom Party Ahmad Oruj told APA. According to him, the decision was passed in today’s meeting of the union’s Board of Chairmen. Non-participation of the party in the activity of the Union for Democracy and divergence between the sides caused this.
Settlement of the Nagorno Karabakh conflict was discussed at the meeting. The members of the union said the government should take concrete steps to liberate Azerbaijani territories. The Union for Democracy considers that work should be done to strengthen the army and establish mutual confidence in the society.
The participants decided to establish the Assembly of the union and appeal to the Public Television for air time.
Chairman of Azerbaijan National Democratic Party Tufan Karim told APA that the decision of the union is illogical and illegal. He said decisions should be passed by consensus. Tufan Karim also said they are one of the founders of the union and can leave the union voluntarily.
“We are making investigation concerning the decision, we will issue a statement about it,” he said.
Tufan Karim still considers Azerbaijan National Democratic Party the member of the Union for Democracy.
