Azerbaijan will host First National Internet Forum

Baku. Aynur Veliyeva - APA-ECONOMICS. Azerbaijan will host the first National Internet Forum 2009 on December 3-4, said participants at a press conference on the preparations for the high-level event.
The press conference was attended by representatives from the national search engine YUMROO, Ministry of Communications and Information Technology, Ministry of Youth and Sports, HP, as well as the Ireli Public Association.
Organizers said that the first National Internet Forum 2009 is dedicated to the strategic development of the national Internet.
Deputy Minister of Communications and Information Technologies Elmir Velizadeh said that the forum will bring together young people and the representatives of public and private sectors to discuss issues of development of the Internet, and seek ways of the development of this segment in the future.
The forum is planned to identify the problems impeding the development of the Internet in the country, and to develop a strategy and recommendations for its development.
The first day of the forum will be devoted to discussing a number of issues, such as the development prospects of the Internet sector in Azerbaijan, Internet TV and Internet radio, mobile internet, social networking, the feasibility of technoparks, local solutions to search technology, advertising networks, internet business: Rules of "New Economy" Game, e-commerce etc.
The second day of the event will focus on the awarding ceremony for the best internet-projects.
As to the keynote speeches, Delta Telecom’s technical director Rahid Alakbarov will report on “Azerinet in 2009”, Silverkey CEO Farid Ismayilzade on "E-Commerce", APA’s general Vusala Mahirgyzy "websites in Azeri", 1News chief editor Rahman Hajiyev "Russian-and English-language sites and their development”.
