Parliamentarians express their views on current issues

Baku. Elbrus Seyfullayev – APA. Azerbaijani parliamentarians expressed their views on the current issues at today-s sitting of the fall session, APA reports. MP Ganira Pashayeva said about 12,000 children suffer from cardiac abnormalities in Azerbaijan. Pashayeva noted that AZN 5000, sometimes AZN 10,000 is required for the operation. The parliamentarian said Heydar Aliyev Foundation allocated funds for the operation of hundreds of such children.
“But it requires state funds. It would be better if special attention is paid to this issue in the state budget for next year,” she said.
Speaker Ogtay Asadov said the draft budget had been distributed among the parliamentarians and would be discussed soon. He said the offers should be made to the budget during the discussions.
MP Ahad Abiyev spoke about Azerbaijan-Turkey relations.
“Invisible forces exert pressure on Azerbaijan with respect to Nagorno Karabakh, impede the liberation of the lands. Turkish government supports these forces. Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan made a promise to us here, but his promises are doubtful. We believe the Turkish people. Our brotherhood is eternal,” he said.
Ogtay Asadov mentioned that the delegation of the Turkish parliament will arrive in Azerbaijan today.
“Recep Tayyip Erdogan said his word. There is no need for additional discussions,” he said.
MP Panah Huseyn said the whole world struggled against the swine flu, but there is no serious approach to this problem in Azerbaijan. He noted that following Baku, Turkey’s flags were lowered from the Turkish soldiers’ memorials in Goychay and Shamakhy and offered to make changes to the law on usage of flags of foreign countries.
MP Ikram Israfil said the employees of Azerkimya State Company in Sumgayit did not get salaries for three months, he asked Ogtay Asadov to interfere in this problem. Ikram Israfil also spoke about the local elections and underlined the importance of holding normal elections. Ogtay Asadov said the elections will be normal, there is no need to worry.
MP Fazil Mustafa said there are problems in connection with ATMs.
“Sometimes pensioners can not get their pensions completely. The number of ATMs should be increased,” he said.
Elmira Akhundova offered to appoint second assistants for the parliamentarians.
MP Siyavush Novruzov said Musavat and other opposition parties had not put forward their candidates.
“How can they win under these circumstances?” he said.
