Two suspects detained for school mass poisoning case

Crackers caused poisoning were produced by 40 Bulag 85 Ltd
Baku. Elnur Mammadli – APA. Two suspects were detained for mass poisoning case among the children in the secondary school of Sumgayit. Resident of Baku Ilkin Fatullayev, 35 and resident of Sumgayit Elvin Hasanov, 23 were suspected in causing of mass poisoning, senior investigator of the Sumgayit prosecutor’s office Elshad Eyvazov told APA. Fatullayev and Hasanov distributed the crackers causing mass poisoning among the children. They told investigators that they distributed the crackers unaware and didn’t suppose that it would create complications. Fatullayev and Hasanov distributed the crackers free to advertise products of their company. Eyvazov said the suspects were released after testimony in the prosecutor’s office because the investigators needed to receive expert opinion proving that the crackers caused poisoning. “The experts will express their opinion soon and the suspected persons were restricted to move. We are investigating the car where the crackers were carried. May be the foods went wrong in the car”. Eyvazov said the crackers were produced by Dashkesen-based 40 Bulag 85 Ltd and kept in the company’s storage in Baku.
The investigator said they launched criminal investigation under article 200.3 (manufacture, release for sale or selling of obviously lower-quality productions, excepted as inequality production, which caused less heavy or heavy harm to health of the victim) of the Criminal Code of Azerbaijan.
A group of children in the secondary school No 38 of Sumgayit received crackers from the unknown persons coming to the school in VAZ-2106 car to distribute free crackers. Later the children ate those crackers began to complain about stomach colic. 50 children were hospitalized and 48 of them were released after the check up and first medical aid, but two are still under the doctor’s control.
