APA - Supporters of Mehdi Karroubi and Mahmoud Ahmadinejad clash during international media fair in Tehran

Tehran. Ramil Mammadli – APA. Former speaker of Iranian parliament and former presidential candidate Mehdi Karroubi visited the 16th International Fair of Press and News Agencies in Tehran.

There were Karroubi’s supporters and opposite forces at the exhibition hall in that time, APA correspondent reported from the event. Karroubi’s supporters welcomed him and chanted “Death to dictator”, “Death to Russia”, “Long live Musavi and Karroubi”, “We support you” and other election slogans. President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad’s supporters protested them and chanted slogans against Karroubi. There was confrontation between the supporters of Karroubi and Ahmadinejad, whose supporters attempted to attack Karroubi. Several pavilions of the fair were destroyed during the clashes. The security services could move Karroubi away from the exhibition hall.
