Uzbek and Pakistani drug smugglers convicted

Baku. Ramil Mammadli – APA. Court of Grave Crimes finalized a hearing on the case of four members of the organized gang composed of Pakistan and Uzbekistan citizens who were engaged in drug trafficking, APA reports. Alovsat Abbasov presided over the hearing.
Citizen of Uzbekistan Mastura Khojayeva was sentenced for 12 years and each of Pakistani citizens Ali Johar, Rahim Sajeed and Navaz Muhammad were sentenced for 15 years of imprisonment.
According to the indictment, the employees of the Main Air Transportation Customs Office found out 3.295 kg heroin in the suitcase owned by Mastura Khojayeva. Operations were carried out in “Cenub” hotel in Zarifa Aliyeva Street, 31, Baku. A black suitcase with 3.330 kg heroin in it was found in the room of Pakistan citizens Ali Johar and Navaz Muhammad, 8.565 kg heroin was found in two suitcases in the room of Pakistan citizen Rahim Sajid.
Mastura Khojayeva, Ali Johar, Navaz Muhammad and Rahim Sajid faced charges under article 234 (illegal manufacturing, purchase, storage, transportation, transfer or selling of narcotics, psychotropic substances) of the Criminal Code.
