Azerbaijani public and culture figures awarded with Polish medals

Baku. Lachin Sultanova – APA. A group of public and cultural figures of Azerbaijan were awarded on Friday with the medals of Poland. They were awarded by the Polish President Lech Kaczynski for their contribution to Poland. According to APA, the medals were presented by the Polish ambassador to Azerbaijan. Minister of Foreign Affairs Elmar Mammadyarov and Minister of Industry and Energy Natig Aliyev received Medal of Commander Grand Cross, Interior Minister Ramil Usubov, Minister of National Security Eldar Mahmudov and Deputy Foreign Minister Khalaf Khalafov – Officer Grand Cross, YAP Vice Chairman and Member of the Parliament Ali Ahmadov, department chiefs of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Rahman Mustafayev and Parvin Mirzazadeh, Executive Director of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation Anar Alekperov, Rector of the Baku Slavic University Kamal Abdulla, Chief of the International Relations Department of the Presidential Administration Novruz Mammadov, Chief of the Protocol of the Presidential Administration Elchin Bagirov – Knight Grand Cross, Director of Azerbaijan National Philharmonic Hall Murad Adigezalzadeh – Gold Cross Medal.
Polish ambassador to Azerbaijan Krzysztof Krajevski said President of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation and Member of the Parliament Mehriban Aliyeva was also awarded with a medal. He presented the medal to Mehriban Aliyeva at the Heydar Aliyev Foundation. He said President Lech Kaczynski awarded these persons during his visit to Azerbaijan.
Elmar Mammadyarov delivered speech on behalf of awarded figures and thanked the Polish President. He said Azerbaijani-Polish relations had two hundreds years of history. Mammadyarov said Polish architects projected half of the buildings in Baku constructed early XX century. The minister said these medals would promote the development of relations between the two countries.
