Elkhan Polukhov: “It’s not clear for us why Azerbaijani ambassador was not invited to iftar dinner hosted by the US President”

Baku. Victoria Dementyeva – APA. President Obama hosted a traditional Ramadan dinner (iftar) at the White House on September 1. Azerbaijani ambassador to Washington was not invited to the iftar dinner. Press Secretary of Azerbaijan’s Foreign Ministry confirmed the fact, APA reports. According to him, Azerbaijani ambassador Yashar Aliyev was invited to iftar dinner to be hosted by U.S. Secretary of State Hillary Clinton on September 14. Elkhan Polukhov stated that it was not clear for them why Azerbaijani ambassador had not been invited to iftar dinner hosted by the US President.
