APA - About 280 state-owned enterprises and small facilities privatized in Azerbaijan

Baku. Nijat Mustafayev - APA-ECONOMICS. About 280 state-owned enterprises and small objects were privatized in Azerbaijan during January-July, said the State Committee on Property Issues.

As part of the second state programme for state-owned property privatization, the privatization of state property was accelerated.
For example, along with the privatization of some 280 small state enterprises and objects, 270 parcels under enterprises and facilities were privatized about in 2009.

In addition, 30 auctions were held to privatize shares of about 30 joint-stock companies in various regions of the country and belonging to different sectors of the economy.

In January-July 2009, AZN 30 million was invested in enterprises privatized through investment competition.

Overall, AZN 430 millionwas invested in 82 enterprises privatized through investment tenders until August 1st, 2009.
