Baku – APA. Prosecutor’s Office and Interior Ministry of the Republic of Azerbaijan released statement on arrest of Adnan Hajizadeh, co-founder of Ol Youth Movement and Emin Milli (Abdullayev), representative of the Alumni Youth Network, press service of the Interior Ministry told APA.
Baku Prosecutor’s Office and Main Police Office issued a statement several days ago about the arrest of Adnan Hajizadeh and Emin Abdullayev (Milli) for hooliganism they committed in the restaurant-bar “Lebanese” in Sabayel District of Baku on July 8 and court decision about two-month pre-trial restriction.
“Double official statement was made because some media organizations and relatives of the accused persons spread untrue reports and attempt to politicize the issue”, said in the statement. “On July 8, at about 18.30 Adnan Hajizadeh and Emin Milli and five others in drink clashed with Vusal Mammadov and Babak Huseynov, who rebuked them for non-ethic words they used in the restaurant-bar “Lebanese” and committed deliberate acts of hooliganism. Four of them escaped from the site when police arrived and three, including Hajizadeh and Milli were detained. Medical examination identified that Hajizadeh and Orkhan GaFarov were in drink, but Emin Abdullayev, Vusal Mammadov and Babak Huseynov didn’t drink alcohol. Huseynov received first medical aid, but Mammadov was hospitalized with head injury”.
“Sabayel Police Office launched a criminal case under article 221.2.1 (hooliganism by a group of persons) of the Penal Code. Hajizadeh and Abdullayev were detained as suspect and gave testimony on July 10, 2009. Witnesses also gave testimony and confirmed that Vusal Mammadov and Babak Huseynov were beaten by the men sitting at the next table. Medical-forensic examination was scheduled on July 9 to identify injuries the aggrieved and suspect persons received”.
“We protest the shadowing of investigation of ordinary hooliganism case. We consider such position as a pressure upon the investigation and unsuccessful attempt to create wrong ideas among the society that no government, but foreign countries and international organizations are interested in the development of democracy and protection of human rights in Azerbaijan. We call on the embassies of separate countries to end interfere in the investigation, which is out of their diplomatic missions”.
