APA - “President of Ichkeria Republic” Doku Umarov is alive, Russian law-enforcement bodies confirm

Baku – APA. Doku Umarov was not among the terrorists killed in Sunjensk region of Ingushetia on May 21, APA reports. While identifying the bodies law enforcers came to the conclusion that the president of unrecognized Ichkeria was not among them.
Earlier President of Chechnya Ramzan Kadirov and member of State Duma Adam Delimkhanov had said they doubted that “President of Ichkeria” has been killed. According to a source in law-enforcement bodies, though the examination of the bodies has not finished, everything is clear.
“We have already identified the bodies. These are Doku Umarov’s supporters and the person with Azerbaijan’s passport on him. Doku Umarov had reportedly had such a document, but there us no fact proving that he is among them. As far as we know, Umarov is alive.”
Reports about the death of Doku Umarov, president of unrecognized Ichkeria republic spread several times in 2006-2007, but they were not confirmed.
