Shakhriyar Mamedyarov draws third game in a row

Baku. Kenan Hasanov - APA-Sport. Azerbaijani grandmaster Shakhriyar Mamedyarov has lost points in three running encounters in the Mikhail Tal memorial tournament in Moscow, Russia.

The 23-year-old made a draw with Ruslan Ponomariov (Ukraine) in round 3. The encounters of Vassily Ivanchuk (Ukraine) - Evgeny Alekseev (Russia), Gata Kamsky (USA) - Boris Gelfand (Israel) ended in draws too. Alexander morozevich (Russia) beat countryman Vladimir Kramnik while Peter Leko (Hungary) won over Aleksei Shirov (Spain). Morozevich is leading the tournament with 2.5 points. Mamedyarov is ranked the 4th with 1.5 points.
The games in round 4 are Leko - Morozevich, Kramnik - Ponomariov, Mamedyarov - Ivanchuk, Alexeev - Kamsky, Shirov – Gelfand. The competition will last till August 27. it will be followed by the blitz tournament with the participation of 18 players on August 29-30.
