Rashad Ahmadov cannot explain failure in Beijing

Baku. Elshen Mammadov - APA-Sport. “I cannot find the reason why I failed to score a medal in Beijing Olympics”, Azerbaijani taekwondo fighter Rashad Ahmadov told APA-Sport.

The 26-aged lost chance for medal at the last moment in the 29th Games.
“I encountered US fighter Steven Lopez in bronze medal bout. We beat each other several times at the end of the fight. His kick met my hand and I beat him on the chest. The judges could have given points to both of us but it was the opponent who received points”, he said.
Ahmadov noted that he had prepared for the Olympics very carefully. The fighter felt sorry for the second failure in Summer Olympic Games. Ahmedov, ranked 5th, said he doesn’t consider himself less qualified than two-time Olympic champions Hamid Saei (Iran) and Steven Lopez who had deprived him of Olympic medal. He thinks he just lacked luck to score a medal. Ahmedov added that he is going to make final decision about his future career after a rest.
