Azeri players attain leadership positions in Grand Prix


Baku. Kenan Hasanov - APA-Sport. Azerbaijani chess players succeeded in the 10th round of Grand Prix held in Sochi, Russia.
Teimour Radjabov and Vugar Hashimov have reached the leadership after the wins over David Navara (Czech Republic) and Mohammed Al Modiaki (Qatar) respectively. Levon Aronian (Armenia) won over Ivan Cheparinov (Bulgaria), Boris Gelfand (Israel) over Vasili Ivanchuk (Ukraine), Sergey Karyagin (Ukraine) over Pyotr Svidler (Russia) as well. The encounter of Dmitri Jakovenko (Russia) - Gata Kamsky (USA), Aleksandr Grishuk (Russia) - Van Jue (China) ended in draws. Radjabov, Hashimov, jue and Aronian are leading the tournament with 6 points each. The encounters of Aronian - Gelfand, Ivanchuk - Radjabov, Karyakin - Cheparinov, Navara - Grishuk, Jue - Kamsky, Jakovenko – Hashimov, Modiaki - Svidler in the 11th round will be played today.
