Agayar Akhundzade determined to earn medal in Beijing

Baku. Elshen Mammedov – APA-Sport. “The main objective is to score a medal in Beijing Olympics”, Azerbaijan judo team coach Agayar Akhundzade told APA-Sport.
The trainer stated that Azeri judo wrestlers gain more chance to succeed in Beijing than in 2000 Sidney and 2004 Athens Summer Olympic Games.
“We were close to score medal in Athens. But two wrestlers took the 5th place at the end. Our sportsmen shared 5th-7th places in Sidney. Now we have more chances to succeed. I am saying this according to the results in late European and world championships”, he said.
Akhundzade noted that all 6 judo wrestlers – Kifayet Gasimova (57 kg), Ramil Gasimov (66 kg), Elnur Mammedli (73 kg), Mehman Azizov (81 kg), Elkhan Mammedov (90 kg) and Ramil Gasimov (100 kg) - are capable of scoring medals in Beijing Olympics.
