3 Azeri wrestler starts world championship with victory


Istanbul. Elshen Mammedov - APA-Sport. World freestyle and Greco-Roman wrestling championship has started today in Abdi Ipekchi saloon in Istanbul, Turkey, APA-Sport reports.
Greco-Roman wrestlers were the first to join the competition. Azerbaijan joined the struggle from 1/16 final.
Azeri wrestler Khurshud Babashov (50 kg) passed to 1/8 final after the win over Azizbey Gulamov (Uzbekistan). He is to encounter Zurab Matcharashvili (Georgia) in this round.
Hadjikhan Mustafayev (60 kg) was beaten by Gennadi Khaliavitski (Belarus). Elvin Murseliyev (74 kg) faced Cjin Hyok Kim (South Korea) in the first encounter. Azeri wrestler managed to defeat the rival. He is going to encounter Rajbir Chikara (India) in the next round.
Semed Jabrayilov (96 kg) gained a victory over Leon Nikolaos (Greece). He is to face Vasil Imerlishvili (Georgia) in the 1/8 final.
